Pasut Beach, Bali - Black Sand and Crooked Palms

If you have dreams of sitting atop a crooked palm tree overlooking a black sand beach at sunset, you must visit Pasut Beach near Canggu, Bali.

Need to Know

As of now, there are no fees for parking or entry here! However, Pasut is becoming a popular Instagram photo spot, so I wouldn't be surprised if this changes soon. It's located about 40 minutes north of Tanah Lot Temple and about 1 hour north of Canggu. There are a few potholes on the way here so be careful if you're on a scooter!

The Beach

Pasut is far enough from most tourist attractions that it still has very peaceful local vibes. You'll likely see more fishermen and locals riding motorcycles along the sand than you will other tourists. Pasut also has the most remarkably soft black sand! You will definitely walk away from this beach with completely black toes.

The beach has attracted a ton of attention because of the weirdly shaped palm tree which juts out of the ground at a 45 degree angle before sharply bending straight for the sky. Climbing up this tree was more difficult than expected, but once we got to the top, we hung out there to watch the sun go down. Since it's located on the west coast, the sunsets here are amazing! We loved this beach for its relaxed vibes, and plan to return to ride our motorcycle on the beach at sunset!
